ATP FINALS TURIN 2024: another great reason to visit Turin, Italy.
The appointment with the ATP Finals is few weeks away now and in Turin it’s already all about ATP Finals.
We have just finished celebrating an extraordinary result at the US Open with Sinner winning the men’s singles and the Errani-Vavassori pair winning the mixed doubles, and we are already looking forward to the most awaited moment for us Turinese: the ATP Finals.

ATP FINALS 2024: WHEN?
The ATP Finals 2024 will be held from November 10th to 17th in Turin. However tennis is not the only reason, to visit Turin in November. In fact, if you decide to spend the whole month in the city, you could participate in a beautiful mix of art, sports and cinema events.
From November 1st to 3rd Turin will host Artissima, the most important contemporary art fair in Italy, which has been attracting visitors, artists and gallery owners from all over the world for thirty years.
From November 22nd to 30th, we will have the Torino Film Festival, the film festival born more than forty years ago as the International Youth Film Festival, and which today is the most important Italian festival dedicated to independent cinema. (Few high-sounding Hollywood names, no cover-worthy red carpet but a lot of international quality, to be clear)
ATP FINALS 2024: WHERE?
All matches will be held at the Inalpi Arena, the large sports hall that was initially called PalaIsozaki as a tribute to the architect Arata Isozaki who designed it, later called Pala Alpitour because this turinese travel company was the sponsor, and which now bears the name of the new sponsor, the Cuneo dairy giant.

The Inalpi Arena is located next to the Olympic stadium, in the Santa Rita area (for those who know Turin and its areas). I must warn you that, obviously, during the event it will be very difficult -if not impossible- to find a place to park your car, along the side roads and under the tree-lined streets that surround the Inalpi Arena and the traffic will be even more intense than it normally is already.
I therefore recommend you use public transport:
- from Porta Susa station you can take tram 10 at the stop XVIII Dicembre southbound towards Caio Mario and get off at the Filadelfia stop;
- from Porta Nuova station you can take tram 4 at the stop Porta Nuova southbound towards Drosso and get off at the stop Sebastopoli;
- from Piazza Palazzo di Città or if you are in the Quadrilatero area you can take tram 4 at the stop Corte d’Appello, which is in Via Milano, always southbound, in direction Drosso and get off at stop Sebastopoli;
- from Piazza Castello, take bus 56 towards Corso Tirreno (Grugliasco) get off at the stop XVIII Dicembre stop, cross the tracks and take tram 10 towards Caio Mario and get off at the stop Filadelfia.
ATP FINALS: WHO WILL COMPETE?
As I write this article, the only qualifiers to participate in this event are Jannik Sinner, No. 1 in the ATP rankings, the German player Alexander Zverev and the Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz.
Maybe not everyone knows that to decide who are the players who will compete in November in Turin, it is not the ATP ranking that we are used to consulting after every major tournament and which records the results of the last 52 weeks from the date of consultation, but the ATP Race, which takes into account the results obtained by tennis players during this calendar year, therefore, starting from January 1st of the current year.

In reality, the first three qualifiers correspond to the top three classified in the ATP ranking but starting from the fourth things get complicated. In the ranking we have, in fact, Novak Djokovic who, on the other hand, in the ATP Race is only 9th and therefore risks to be out of the game, after many years of presence and after 7 title victories, the most recent last year, 2023, against a Sinner who made us dream.
In addition to the first three already mentioned, the players who are fighting to get in are the usual well-known names: Medvedev, Ruud, Fritz, Rublev, De Minaur, Dimitrov, Paul, Tsitsipas.
This year we (we as Italian team) will most likely play the ATP Finals also in doubles with the Bolelli-Vavassori pair, even if they’re not yet officially qualified.
ATP FINALS: EVENTS FOR EVERYONE
Is the ATP Finals a “tennis-only event”? Of course not. There will be many activities to welcome, entertain and make you discover the best of the city. In fact, some things are already happening, for example Tennis in Città (Tennis in the City): every weekend in a different square the common areas are transformed into mini-tennis courts where, under the careful guidance of instructors and experts, children, teenagers and adults can try their hand at the game of tennis and table tennis.

During the week of the ATP Finals, right next to the Inalpi Arena, in Piazza d’Armi there will be the FAN VILLAGE, a large, covered space with a pavilion entirely dedicated to those who want to practice sport as well as watch it: it will be an area equipped with mini tennis, pickleball, beach tennis and padel courts.
There will also be a pavilion dedicated to the food court with a large screen, so you don’t miss anything of the ATP Finals and a pavilion for the activities of the sponsors. The novelty this year is that access to the FAN VILLAGE is not limited to those who have a valid ticket for a match of the ATP Finals, but it will be open to anyone who wants to live this experience, paying an entrance ticket (we are talking about 10 euros).
At the Inalpi Arena and at the Sporting Press Club, you will have the opportunity to attend the practice sessions of the champions by paying a specific ticket.
In addition, for fans and enthusiasts who want to “get even closer” to the champions and surround them with their affection, there will be the “Blue Carpet”, a catwalk set up between the Carignano and Carlo Alberto squares, two of the most evocative squares in Turin.

Another novelty this year is the Grand Opening Show: a great opening show that will take place at the Inalpi Arena on the Friday before the start of the ATP Finals.
Finally, Turin will be transformed into a great instagrammable setting for your social shares: with the “raining balls” initiative, the city center will be decorated with giant tennis balls (diameter 2 meters), as if they fell down from the sky, or as if they were left on the court by these “tennis giants” during a workout.
ATP FINALS: WE ARE READY, AND YOU?
So, here in Turin everything is ready to welcome the 8 giants of tennis (and the 8 doubles teams) for the ATP Finals and of course to welcome all of you.
If you’ve read this article, you’re now ready for the ATP Finals too, but if you still need a few more details about the city, check out the city guides section here.
In the meantime, we are preparing the request to host the ATP Finals even after 2025 (the year in which Turin’s mandate as host city officially expires), but as a woman and a super fan of Jasmine Paolini, I would like to ask the mayor and the WTA, when will Turin host the WTA Finals?
